The Puneeth Rajakumar power star of Kannada cinema has proved that he is the No.1 in the box office as his recent release ‘Raj The Showman’ has made stupendous collection of Rs.25 crores in 50 days screening all over Karnataka. This box office collection is biggest so far of any actor in Kannada cinema that too in just 50 days. It has surpassed all previous records in 50 days is a respite for the Kannada cinema industry as the nine of the 90 films in nine months clicked in the box office in 2009.

‘Raj The Showman’ is forging ahead after 50 days in 50 plus theatres besides showing in United States of America, Germany, Singapore and Australia.

The collection figure was made open by famous distributor Jayanna on Monday evening at the 50 days get together of ‘Raj The Showman’. Out of Rs.25 crores gross collection in 50 days the fifty percent of it is theatre rent he agrees. But like the previous films of Puneeth Rajakumar this film ‘Raj The Showman’ was also sold out for a bigger price as the hat trick director Prem is also a part of this film. According to sources the investment made on ‘Raj The Showman’ is Rs.7.5 crores and the film was sold for Rs.12.50 crores by the producer Suresh Gowdru and Srinivasamurthy. This is once again huge for a small and limited Karnataka market.

The strength of all Puneeth Rajakumar films is like that. From ‘Appu’ the debut till ‘Vamshi’ his films collected not less than Rs.20 crores in the Karnataka market alone. Had the Kannada film got the market opportunity of non Kannada film market undoubtedly Puneeth Rajakumar would have been one of the three major top stars of South India today says the sources.

Puneeth Rajakuamr also a distributor of his home banner films says in those days the collection of ‘Om’ and ‘Janumadha Jodi’ was stupendous. I do not want to know the collections of my films. It has to be told from the market survey. One point is sure that none of my films from ‘Appu’ fared badly in the box office says Puneeth Rajakumar.
